 note = {The association between immune response to streptolysin-O(SLO) and HLA was studied in patients with primary glomerulopathies. 1) The frequency of DR4 was increased in patients with IgA nephropathy. 2) The frequencies of B51 and Bw54 were increased in patients with MPGN. 3) The frequencies of Aw33 and DQw3 were increased in patients with INS. 4) The lymphocyte response of IgA nephropathy patients to SLO and that of INS patients were less than that of patients with familial hematuria. The lymphocyte response of MPGN patients was higher than that of patients with familial hematuria. 5) Effects of the HLA gene on the SLO-specific cellular immune response were studied in patients with INS. A significant association was observed between high responsiveness and possession of HLA-DR2 or DQw1, and also between low responsiveness and DQw3. HLA-DQw3-related low T cell activity may thus play a role in the pathological process in patients with INS.},
