 note = {It is effective for breast cancer to be diagnosed and treated in early stage. In Joetsu area of Niigata Prefecture, mass screening for breast cancer was intended in 1984 and carried out to start from the next year. Among 20061 women over the age of 30 years, 16 cases of breast cancer were detected during 4 years. 12 cases of those (75%) were in early stage. (Stage I TNMsyrten) In 120 cases diagnosed and treated in our clinic during the same term, 57 cases (47.5%) were in early stage. From this, it is suggested that breast cancers in early stage were detected effectively by mass screening.},
