During recent 11 years, 132 patients with MOF were treated in our hospital and 49 patients were dead. 82 MOF patients were complicated with DIC and their hospital death rate was 31.7%, but 50 MOF patients without DIC were dead in 46%. The death rate of MOF patients without DIC was higher than the patients with DIC. 27 MOF patients with DIC were operated in this DIC but severe bleeding tendency was not observed. MOF patients with DIC were not severe compared with the patients without DIC and these patients were able to operate in spite of the DIC.
