The superficial layer of morphological left and right ventricles in Situs Inversus did not display mirror-image of that in Situs Solitus. Vortex cordis in both Situs Inversus and Situs Solitus were distorted clockwise. Detailed observation of myocardial fibers of the intermediate layer revealed that, even though not evident in some area, the fiber arrangement is mirror-imaged when the entire bundle, i.e., from the origin to the end point was considered as a unit. Bundles in Situs Inversus cases did not intrinsically differed from those in Situs Solitus cases. The innermost left and right ventricular myocardial layers were also mirror-imaged. Our findings led to the consideration that the superficial layer developed in an embryologically earlier stage than the deeper layers. Further assessment would be required as to clarify the reason why the whorl of the apex of the left ventricle in both cases were distorted similarlly clockwise.}, pages = {960--976}, title = {心室筋の構築について : 全内臓逆位例と正位例の比較・検討}, volume = {106}, year = {1992} }
