However, the mechanism by which this occurs has not been clarified. Previous studies found that dopamine-deficient (DD) mice exhibited hyperactivity in a novel environment. This hyperactivity is improved by clozapine and donepezil, which are used to treat psychiatric symptoms associated with dopamine deficiency (PSDD). We considered that DD mice could be used to study PSDD. In the present study, we sought to identify the pharmacological mechanism of PSDD. We conducted locomotor activity tests by administering quetiapine and drugs that have specific actions on serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine [5-HT]) receptors and muscarinic receptors. Changes in neuronal activity that were induced by drug administration in DD mice were evaluated by examining Fos immunoreactivity. Quetiapine suppressed hyperactivity in DD mice. The 5-HT1A receptor antagonist WAY100635 inhibited this effect. The number of Fos-positive neurons in the median raphe nucleus increased in DD mice that exhibited hyperactivity and was decreased by treatment with quetiapine and 5-HT1A receptor agonists. In conclusion, hyperactivity in DD mice was ameliorated by quetiapine, likely through 5-HT1A receptor activation. These findings suggest that 5-HT1A receptors may play a role in PSDD, and 5-HT1A receptor-targeting drugs may help improve PSDD.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_6_description_5":{"attribute_name":"内容記述","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"International Journal of Molecular Sciences. 2022, 23(13), 7436.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_6_description_53":{"attribute_name":"学位記番号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"新大院博(医)第1085号","subitem_description_language":"ja","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_6_dissertation_number_52":{"attribute_name":"学位授与番号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_dissertationnumber":"甲第5072号"}]},"item_6_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"https://doi.org/10.3390/ijms23137436","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_6_rights_15":{"attribute_name":"権利","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_rights":"© 2022 by the authors.","subitem_rights_language":"en"},{"subitem_rights":"Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International","subitem_rights_language":"en","subitem_rights_resource":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"open access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Ochiai, Yukiko","creatorNameLang":"en"},{"creatorName":"落合, 郁紀子","creatorNameLang":"ja"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2023-04-27"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"r4nmk1085.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"本文","objectType":"fulltext","url":"https://niigata-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/2000964/files/r4nmk1085.pdf"},"version_id":"e9fda105-33b3-41d4-ac1a-713bcebf14ae"},{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2023-04-27"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"r4nmk1085_a.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"435KB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"要旨","objectType":"abstract","url":"https://niigata-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/2000964/files/r4nmk1085_a.pdf"},"version_id":"2e8ab0e5-2c4f-47f7-91e5-6becf096db1f"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"psychiatric symptoms","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"dopamine deficiency","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"dopamine-deficient mice","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"5-HT1A receptor","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Parkinson's disease","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"doctoral thesis","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_db06"}]},"item_title":"Therapeutic effects of quetiapine and 5-HT1A receptor agonism on hyperactivity in dopamine-deficient mice","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Therapeutic effects of quetiapine and 5-HT1A receptor agonism on hyperactivity in dopamine-deficient mice","subitem_title_language":"en"},{"subitem_title":"ドーパミン欠乏マウスの多動に対するクエチアピンおよび5-HT1A受容体作動の治療効果について","subitem_title_language":"ja"}]},"item_type_id":"6","owner":"1","path":["455","562"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2023-04-27"},"publish_date":"2023-04-27","publish_status":"0","recid":"2000964","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Therapeutic effects of quetiapine and 5-HT1A receptor agonism on hyperactivity in dopamine-deficient mice"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-04-27T02:14:28.117722+00:00"}
