Among those activities are visiting sake breweries and making traditional crafts. When participating in those activities, participants are given a lot of explanations including the information about the process of making traditional crafts. However, little is known about characteristics of linguistic expressions used in such explanations and how the explanations differ according to languages. The aim of this study is to tackle these questions, focusing on the explanations in Japanese and English. Based on the data derived from several TV programmes, this study reveals how various factors (e.g. process-oriented or result-oriented) influence the choice of linguistic expressions in the explanation of traditional crafts and local lifestyles.}, pages = {161--175}, title = {ものづくりや地域の暮らしの説明に見られる言語表現 : 日英語比較}, volume = {13}, year = {2022} }
