However, concrete examples of instructional strategies that promote deep approach to science learning are not clear to many teachers in elementary school. In this study, the use of "Resources" sections in the textbooks is explored to see if it promotes student deep understanding of scientific concepts. A lesson about "Solid, Liquid, and Gas" was developed and implemented to help students learn that not only water but also all substances can have three phases.
