Effectiveness of adjuvant chemo-immunotherapy after radical surgery using Mitomycin C, 5-Fluorouracil and OK 432 was studied in 85 patients with primary biliary cancer. Postoperative survival rates were compared between those patients who had adjuvant therapy and those who had no adjuvant therapy. Twenty-four patients were excluded from the comparison. Pathologic examination revealed that 16 patients had pT1 lesions (early carcinoma) in which any adjuvant therapy was not indicated and that resection was absolutely noncurative in 3 patients. Six patients were withdrawn because of early postoperative complications (4) and side effects of the drugs (2). Survival rates were compared based on the stage of the disease in both groups with gallbladder cancer and bile duct cancer. In both groups, no significant beneficial effect on survival was obtained even though it seemed slightly better in those patients with advanced bile duct cancer (stage III and IV). The results remained unconclusive because of the small number of patients. However, it seemed essential to develope more effective regimen of the drugs for primary biliary cancer in the future trial and, on the other hand, maintain careful consideration for safety of the therapy.}, pages = {249--256}, title = {胆道癌切除例に対する補助免疫化学療法 : 新潟地区多施設共同研究による検討}, volume = {108}, year = {1994} }
