It might be essential to elucidate the effect of anesthetics on MEP for accurate monitoring of motor function during surgery. I recorded spinal MEP from the cervical epidural space and muscular MEP from the thenar and tibialis anterior muscles in response to transcranial magnetic stimulation in 17 patients who underwent spinal surgery under general anesthesia. I examined the effects of fentanyl, ketamine, droperidol, nitrous oxide, sevoflurane and isoflurane on the MEPs. Any of these anesthetics did not change the latency of the MEPs. Fentanyl (4~6μg/kg) did not significantly change the amplitude of spinal and muscular MEPs. Ketamine (1.5 mg/kg) significantly increased the amplitude of N wave of spinal MEP. Droperidol (0.1~0.2 mg/kg) significantly decreased the amplitude of later compoments of spinal MEP. Nitrous oxide (60%), sevoflurane (2%) and isoflurane (1%) significantly decreased the amplitudes of spinal as well as muscular MEPs. Thus, spinal as well as muscular MEPs were differentially affected by anesthetics. Volatile anesthetics should be avoided during monitoring of MEPs because of depressive effects of these drugs on MEPs even at the surgical depth. Both ketamine and fentanyl might be advantageous to be used for monitoring the MEPs.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_7_full_name_3":{"attribute_name":"著者別名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"120563","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}],"names":[{"name":"Tobita, Toshiyuki"}]}]},"item_7_publisher_7":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"新潟医学会"}]},"item_7_select_19":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_select_item":"publisher"}]},"item_7_source_id_11":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00182415","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_7_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"00290440","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"飛田, 俊幸"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"120562","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2019-08-08"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"108(5)_367-374.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1.6 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"108(5)_367-374.pdf","url":"https://niigata-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/19368/files/108(5)_367-374.pdf"},"version_id":"3e122723-1c8f-4c40-b8d7-43fbad5d4e5e"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"motor evoked potentials","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"transcranial magnetic stimulation","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"spinal cord evoked potentials","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"anesthetics","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"運動誘発電位","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"経頭蓋的磁気刺激","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"脊髄誘発電位","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"麻酔薬","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"経頭蓋的磁気刺激による脊髄及び筋の運動誘発電位に対する麻酔薬の影響","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"経頭蓋的磁気刺激による脊髄及び筋の運動誘発電位に対する麻酔薬の影響"},{"subitem_title":"経頭蓋的磁気刺激による脊髄及び筋の運動誘発電位に対する麻酔薬の影響","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"7","owner":"1","path":["456","1150"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2016-02-10"},"publish_date":"2016-02-10","publish_status":"0","recid":"19368","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["経頭蓋的磁気刺激による脊髄及び筋の運動誘発電位に対する麻酔薬の影響"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":null},"updated":"2022-12-15T03:50:18.434437+00:00"}
