The mutant mice are characterized by the prominent osteosclerosis and defective differentiation of osteoclasts, monocytes, and tissue macrophages due to a lack of functional macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF/CSF-1) activity. In op/op mice, osteoclalsts were markedly reduced and showed poorly developed ruffled borders. Daily administration of M-CSF induced the development and ultrastructural differentiation of osteoclasts, followed by the resorption of bones. These results indicate that the differentiation and proliferation of osteoclasts are mediated by M-CSF.}, pages = {810--814}, title = {2)大理石病モデルマウス(op/op)を用いた破骨細胞の分化機序の検討(シンポジウム 骨粗鬆症の病態・治療・予防, 第493回新潟医学会)}, volume = {108}, year = {1994} }
