During seven years from 1988 to 1994, total number of the examinees was 262, 477 women, which covered only 7.2% of expected population, far less from 22.5% which would be the goal made by the Ministry of Health. During seven years, total number of detected breast cancer was 171 cases and detection rate 0.06%, which was considerably lower than of nation-wide level(0.08%). The reason of this fact may probably due to several problems, such as the examination only by palpation, low number of examiner, lack of recognition for the importance of breast self-examination. In future, the authorization of specialist for the breast cancer examination, and the routine use of mammography in mass screening should be established. Furthermore, important informations such that breast self-examination is the most important procedure for the detection of early breast cancer, and the early breast cancer can be treated by breast-preserving operation, should be informed and emphasized to the public by mass-media.}, pages = {75--80}, title = {3)新潟県における乳がん検診の現状と問題点(シンポジウム 各科領域における検診 : 現状と問題点, 第514回新潟医学会)}, volume = {111}, year = {1997} }
