For evaluating the effect of these modifications, we compared the results of mass screening using photofluoloscopic examination in '84~'85 to those in '93~'94. The results were as follows. The number of taking examination extremely decreased from 86,247('84~'85)to 30,612('93~'94). But, the detection rate of lung cancer increased from 43 over one hundred thousand to 93. And, the rate of clinical stage I in detected lung cancer increased from 44% to 68%. Next, we compared five year survival rate of lung cancer patients detected by mass screening in Niigata city. Ninety-three lung cancer patients were detected by mass screening using photofluoloscopic examination in Niigata city from 1983 to '87, and sixty-six patients were detected from 1988 to '92. Five year survival rate of the former group was 33%, and the latter was 64%. This difference of survival rate is statistically significant. So we concluded that the system modifications improved the accuracy of mass screening. But, decreasing people that taking examination is very important problem of mass screening in Niigata city.}, pages = {72--75}, title = {2)肺がん検診(シンポジウム 各科領域における検診 : 現状と問題点, 第514回新潟医学会)}, volume = {111}, year = {1997} }
