One hundred fifty two (70%) ears with tinnitus suffered sensorineural hearing loss. The diagnoses were sensorineural hearing loss by unknown origin in 72 ears, presbycusis in 23 ears, industrial hearing loss in 15 ears, idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss in 8 ears, and others in 34 ears. On the other hand, 48 ears showed normal hearing. In 200 ears pitch match test revealed that high pitch tinnitus (above 4 KHz) was frequent, and loudness balance test estimated the loudness smaller than 15 dB sensational level in most cases.
