However, the issues of food security and sustainability have different meanings when they are considered at the global, regional, national and local levels. Research into food policy up to now has mainly analyzed the relationship between the average income level and food demand with the country as a unit. Research into the impact of the wealth gap on food demand along with economic growth is also inadequate. In this research, the impact of economic growth on food consumption in East Asia will be analyzed by taking the wealth gap into consideration.
