Almost all pediatric surgical ward in Japan are suffering from heavy deficits. This problem not be solved soley within the ward, because its causes lie in structual problems in medical economics. Medical care in classical pediatric surgery may not be economically profitable in Japan. According to an analysis in this paper, the economic deadlock in the pediatric surgical field has been induced by wrong estimation of escalated man power needed for medical and nursing management, and cost for surgical operations.
