In [^<11>C] labeling of fatty acids, a new chemical approach to the preparation of [1-^<11>C] fatty acids from [^<11>C] HCN was developed. This method has some advantages, such as no requirement of absolutely anhydrous solvent, easy [^<11>C] labeling using an extremely small amount of substrate, and good reproducibility. From these advantages, it has been shown that this new approach is one of efficient synthetic methods of [1-^<11>C] labeled fatty acids for use in routine PET studies. While, in [^<18>F] labeling of fatty acids, 5-methyl-17-[^<18>F] fluoroheptadecanoic acid (5-MFHA) was proposed as a new myocardial imaging tracer for PET studies. From accumulation studies and metabolic studies of the heart muscle, 5-MFHA showed some properties, such as the relatively high initial uptake, the longer retention of myocardial accumulation and the quite similar metabolic pattern in the myocardium to that of straight-chain-fatty acids. These properties demonstrate that 5-MFHA is one of the structually modified fluorofatty acids and may be one of available myocardial imaging tracers. According to PET studies, this expectation is well supported.}, pages = {1--13}, title = {陽電子放出核種で標識された脂肪酸関連診断薬の開発とその医学利用}, volume = {113}, year = {1999} }
