Ultimate goal of treatment of herpes zoster is prevention of post-herpetic neuralgia. Major decline of the incident of PHN was observed with acyclovir administration in 1980's. Currently early administration of acyclovir is the only effective treatment, widely accepted in the prevention of PHN. In its acute phase herpes zoster is treated with valaciclovir, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, corticosteroid oral administration, and vidarabine topical application. PHN is treated, although not always effective, with amitriptyline, benzodiazepines, carbamazepine, capsicin, or nerve block. Promising data in reactivation of VZV immunity were reported for prevention of development of herpes zoster and PHN.}, pages = {609--611}, title = {2 帯状疱疹急性期の治療 : 皮膚科の立場から(第616回新潟医学会,ペインクリニックの現状と問題点)}, volume = {120}, year = {2006} }
