The purpose of this study was focusing on the relationship between the QOL of HIV-infected patients and psychological factors. Subject and Method: The psychological factors affecting the QOL were examined using the disease specific health-related QOL scale and psychological assessment scales, HADS and PIL, in 245 HIV-infected patients receiving treatment at hospitals in the Kanto-Koshinetsu region. Result: Feeling of depression and anxiety have a significant relationship with the QOL of patients. In addition, there was a significant correlation between feelings of depression and anxiety and existential theme. Existential theme also showed significant relationship with the QOL of HIV-infected patients.
