The purpose of this paper is to develop a teaching model in which students think critically about the mutual cognitive process of history. In recent years, many lesson models have been developed. Those lesson models avoid teaching the history as having an absolute correct answer, and place importance on the activities in which the students themselves describe the history. These lesson models are divided into two types: one that recognizes history by considering history as a result of interpretation and examines the interpretation, and another type that recognizes history by examining the concept using the framework of concepts. I pointed out the problems of those lesson models. In order to overcome these problems, I have developed a history lesson model that examines the process of forming the image of "Uesugi Kenshin". This lesson model is expected to nurture students who understand that history is described through dialogue and form their own historical awareness.
