I've been wondering what kind of training in computer sciences should be given to the students majoring in humanities. This year I had a chance to teach students how to use a computer. I taught them, for example, how to send E-mails, how to write documents for their Homepages in HTML, and so on. I gave them following requirements. 1) to send me E-mails which should include a)names, b)majoring subjects, c)future plans. 2) to change their mails into the documents for their Homepages. If there were difficult words (which were easy for us to understand) in their mails, they had to comment on them. They had to consider the style because anyone could read their writings. They understood the difference between private mails and public documents or articles as well as the knowledge of computers. I think we could choose such training for the students majoring in humanities.
