To improve teaching methods and class quality, the Committee for Improvement of Education conducted a questionnaire on how the teaching staff in the Faculty of Agriculture evaluated the attitude of students toward a lesson. The committee conducted a questionnaire on October, 1997 and received 72 responses from 102 teaching staff, including non-faculty member and staff belonging to the Graduate School of Science and Technology. The teaching staff consider that the student's attitude toward the class is relatively good and that the students understand the purposes and contents of lecture by their explanation. A lot of teaching staff also consider that the purpose of the lecture described on the syllabi are fully accomplished. However, from the student's evaluation for the lecture and the results of the test, we dare say that a deep gap between the feeling of teacher and the impressions or the response of student to the lecture is present. Concerning the marking of the credit, almost all the teacher consider that the strict marking on the basis of the number of the attendance and score of the test is required. It is necessary to change the passive attitude of student to the lectures accompanied with the continuous enthusiasm of teaching staff for the further improvement of the quality of education.
