Melting of snow in cold water
宮内, 信之助
The melting of snow in water at low temperatures below 5 ℃ was investigated. Snow being immersed in water at low temperatures, snow is melted in the two stages, rapid and slow stage. When snow is thrown in cold water at 1℃, the rate of melting in the second stage is very slow resulting in that 60% of snow immersed is remained. But, snow is impregnated with water intermittently, that is melted effectively and even in water at 1℃, is vanished perfectly. The intermittent method was applied to the outdoor snow-removal.
