Teachers' beliefs influence their perceptions and judgments, which affect their behavior in the classroom (M. Frank Pajares, 1992). One of the concepts of learning (beliefs) is constructivism. Jonassen (1991) distinguishes between the assumptions in objectivism and constructivism. Objectivism believes in the existence of reliable knowledge about the world. Constructivism claims that reality is more in the mind of the knower, that the knower constructs a reality or at least interprets it based upon his/her experiences. Objectivism and constructivism are described as polar extremes on a continuum in order to contrast their assumptions. The main purpose of this paper is to examine the relation between teachers' concepts of learning and teaching from the viewpoint of objectivism and constructivism by interview.
