| 内容記述 | Three species of tabulate corals were recovered from a float block of limestone collected in the Kotaki area, Itoigawa, Niigata Prefecture, central Japan. They are a pachyporid favositid Thamnopora itoae Niko, Ibaraki and Tazawa, 2014, an alveolitid favositid Scoliopora hosakai Niko, Ibaraki and Tazawa sp. nov., and a multithecoporid auloporid Syringoporella sp. Previously T. itoae was known from pebbles in Mesozoic conglomerate collected in the same area. Scoliopora hosakai differs from two similar species from the Qinling Mountains, China in its characters of branches and tabulae. Specific compositions of these corals suggest Middle Devonian in age for this block. | |||||
