The water was classified into three types, calcium bicarbonate type, sodium chloride type and valley water type which contained small amounts of electrolytes. The sodium chloride type water was found on the outskirts of a sliding mass and the calcium bicarbonate water was collected from a hole bored in the middle of the landslide. Their chemical composition was explained as the mixing of sea salt and dissolution products on weathering process. Sea salt carried by strong wind was the main source of sodium chloride. Contribution of chemical weathering was estimated by subtracting the contribution of the sea salt from the analytical results. The main components of the remaining salt was calcium bicarbonate.
